Zachary Zapata played NCAA collegiate basketball at Texas Lutheran University prior to receiving his bachelor’s from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio in 2011. Before starting law school, he had the opportunity to work for Fulbright & Jaworski (now Norton Rose & Fulbright) on their products liability defense department. While in undergrad, he also helped start the energy drink company “Nerd,” working as a regional sales manager for Central Texas.
Mr. Zapata graduated from St. Mary’s Law School in San Antonio, Texas. While he was in law school he worked for Bires, Schaffer, and DeBorde assisting in state and federal criminal matters and clerked for the 93rd District Court of Hidalgo County. He also spent a great deal of time volunteering at the Center for Legal and Social Justice offering access to legal services for the less fortunate.
Now at the Law Offices of Ezequiel Reyna Jr., Mr. Zapata uses his experience to help people that are victims of personal injury. Mr. Zapata handles civil matters in state and federal court that include motor vehicle accidents, commercial accidents, intentional tort claims, insurance disputes, Deceptive Trade Practices Act claims as well as maritime cases. His experience complements that of the other lawyers at the firm who have nearly 100 years of combined experience.
Mr. Zapata lives and practices in the Rio Grande Valley where he has deep roots. He is the fourth generation on his father’s side to have lived in the area. He enjoys working out and playing basketball, spending time with his wife and family and teaching his daughter new languages.
